Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!. My family celebrated with friends at the local bowling alley, and then Jenn and I watched the Times Square Ball drop (energy efficient, the power of 10 toasters). I stayed up to watch a Three Sheets special episode of a NYC pub crawl (http://www.mojohd.com/mojoseries/threesheets/pubcrawl/), which included beer lover favorites McSorley's (http://www.mcsorleysnewyork.com/home.html) and Burp Castle (http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1908/). It was good evening, and was followed by a lazy day at home that was highlighted by watching an outdoor hockey game in a snowstorm between Pittsburgh and Buffalo (the bowl games basically stunk).

I was able to run down to Mahar's and was reworded with a few special treats. First off, there were two Christmas beers by Mikkeller (http://www.mikkeller.dk/forside_GB.html) (To/From and Santa's Little Helper), the same brewer that made Beer Geek Breakfast that I shared with my brother Dave at his bachelor party. The beers were high in alcohol, and delicious. Bill offered those there a shot of whiskey, and then shared a jeroboam of Stone Oak Aged Arrogant Bastard from 2004. The beer held up real well, and we enjoyed our time together. I confirmed that I was #6 on the beer list, and reflected that I had spent entirely too much money on beer this past year (surprise, surprise). -4500
