A friend of mine retired a few months ago. Isaac (http://www.theisaacpapers.blogspot.com/) and I saw eye-to-eye on alot of things (I consider him a mentor of mine), and since he was typically very busy at work, I did not ask to go out and do too much with him. He came back from vacation a few weeks ago, and I asked him to come with me to my favorite beer bar, Mahar's. We talked politics, current events (do you think Imus should have been fired?), and what was going on in our families. I especially wanted to share a part of my life with someone who meant alot to me. To share with him what it meant to be a "beer enthusiast."
My friend likes Hefe Weizen beers, so I started him off with Erdinger's on draft. I had a smoked lager from Scherlanka.
Both were very good. It was nice to sit and chat. I realized that I had missed out by not extending the invitation before. I had always assumed that he would be too busy. But I had a wonderful evening, and look forward to going out again. I guess I'd just like to share that we shouldn't be afraid to extend that invitation to someone that you care about. - 4132
