From time to time, I have the opportunity to go to

Pittsburgh for business trips. I’ve been there before to visit my sister-in-law, and by now have become quite comfortable driving around the city. I really like exploring new areas for beer, and there are lots of choices in this area. I went this past week with two friends of mine, and I volunteered to play chauffeur for the team. I have two favorite places to go, Fatheads and the Church Brew Works.
Fatheads (
https://www.fatheads.com/) is a wonderful beer bar located in South Side, and has about fifty taps and excellent food. And when I said excellent food, I swear they have the best sandwiches that I have ever had
(and that is not just the beer talking).

They call them Headwiches, and they are big enough to eat a half for dinner and then take the other half for lunch. We happened to stop by on wing night, and were able to sample several different varieties. I recommend both the Parmesan and the Jalapeño Cheddar, and would stay away from the Caribbean Killers.
They have beer too, and I had the Legacy Hedonism Ale on cask. Fatheads has two contract brews that are pretty nice:

Fatheads Ale is from Rogue Brewing and is available on draft, while their Union 1807 ale is from Troegs Brewing and can be gotten in bottles. There is a beer store upstairs that we were able to get some beers to go. Tip of the Day: As long as you check your luggage and wrap the beer in clothes, I’ve never had a problem with taking beer on the plane.
The next night we went to the Church Brew Works (
http://www.churchbrew.com/), a brewpub that was set up in an old church.
They make a big deal of letting you know that it is on de-consecrated ground so it wouldn’t be sacrilegious. As a beer drinking Lutheran,

I couldn’t think of a better use for the property. The altar has the beer making machinery, and the confessional keeps the liquor (they joke that the priest always kept his booze in there anyways). The Church has fancier food (Kobe steak for $26), but I stuck with a southwestern pizza. I had their standard line up for beer before, so I went with a Coconut Stout on cask, and followed it up with a Maibock.
These are probably the two best places to visit in Pittsburgh, and I love sharing them with folks that have never been there before. I’ll have the opportunity to return, and I’ll have to decide whether to go back to these places or share something new. - 4146

Fatheads sounds like a cool bar, filled with all sorts of beers on tap. When I came across your post, I thought you were talking about the fathead prints for your walls. I work for Wallhogs and sometimes people call our BIG prints custom fatheads.
Wallhogs prints BIG, from 2 feet tall to 7 feet tall and up to 4.5 feet wide on our signature reusable vinyl material (which safely adheres to walls without damaging the surface or paint), on a glossy poster or on a fine art canvas. If you are ever looking to bog BIG, let me know, I would love to help.

p.s. If you are ever in New Orleans, Lagers on Veterans Blvd. has a whole slew of beers on tap. I used to go a bunch when I lived there ;)
