Out of time. No excuses but I need to finish to start on my next edition of my beer book. We had a good month, but it has been tough with some family emergencies. Here are the highlights:
12/13: Business trip to Baltimore. I love Max’s on Broadway for the beer selection and TVs. I also found Frisco’s Grill and the Pub Dog brewpub in Columbia, and the Judge’s Bench in Ellicott City. Can’t wait to taste the Tactical Nuclear Penguin.
12/23: Wrapped up the Advent Shebeen at Mahar’s. Solid selections, but not spectacular (very few big bottles and no rare finds). The highlights included Fegley’s Rude Elf’s Reserve and Stegmaier Winter Warmer. This could be the last year for the Advent.
12/25: Christmas with the family in Jersey allowed for some beer swapping and sharing. Dave brought the New England Ghandi Bot and Brian had the Victory Dark Intrigue. We headed over to Pinnochio’s and found Nogne O’s Sweet and Red Horizon.
12/28: Road trip to Boston. Stopped at My Place in Newton, CT and was able to try a New England Imperial Stout Trooper and then have dinner at the Boston Beer Works (welcome to Fenway kids).
12/29: Back to NH, hitting Kappy’s along the way for some Pretty Things and some Clown Shoes. We stopped and lounged at Red Hook for a Winterhook.
12/30: My favorite brewpub, the Portsmouth Brewery, offered their Milk Stout on cask as well as an aged version of their Wheat Wine.
12/31: A Prodigal Ebb Lager at Barley’s Pub in Dover and a magnum of Anchor’s OSA. Nice!
Here’s to everyone’s health, especially my own family’s. Take care and God Bless. – 5717/10290
